Prof. dr hab. Agnieszka Wierzbicka has been appointed to join the Council of Directors of the research institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Prof. Wierzbicka is the Head of the Institute of Genetics and Animal Biotechnology, PAS.

The Mediterranean diet is considered to be an exemplary way of eating. Scientists and researchers from SGGW confirm the fact, but under some important conditions.
The international team of scientists, with the participation of dr hab. Dominika Średnicka -Tober, prof. SGGW and dr Marcin Barański, proved that the switch from a habitual Western diet to a Mediterranean one, rich in fruit and vegetables, and considered to be one of the most beneficial to health, is associated with higher exposure to unhealthy pesticides.
