genetykaThe Organizing Committee cordially invites you to the scientific conference „Application genetics of plants – challenges of the 21st century”, which will be held on September 22-24, 2021 at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) (in the Crystal Hall).

The planned conference is a cyclical event that evolved from the Conventions of Unnamed Chairs, organized by departments within the structure of agricultural universities and dealing with genetics, breeding and plant biotechnology. However, both the thematic scope and the composition of participants resulted in a departure from the old name and formula, although the main mission, which is to maintain and establish cooperation between research teams, remains unchanged.

The next conference will be organized by the Department of Genetics, Breeding and Plant Biotechnology (SGGW) in connection with the 100th anniversary of its creation.

We plan to organize five thematic sessions:

1. Genetic basis of reaction to biotic and abiotic stresses

2. Green biotechnology in improving crops

3. Exploration of genetic resources and cytogenetics

4. Plant genomics and bioinformatics

5. Techniques for editing plant genomes

Among the invited lecturers who confirmed their participation are Bradely J Till, Andrzej Kilian, Jadwiga Śliwka, Jacek Hennig, Rafał Barański, Pablo F. Cavagnaro, Massimo Iorizzo, Stefan Stojałowski, Robert Hasterok, Michał Książkiewicz, Jerzy Nawracała, Paweł Czembor, Edyta Paczos -Grzęa, Dariusz Grzebelus and Karol Marciniak. Lectures will also be delivered by the staff of our department – Wojciech Pląder, Piotr Gawroński, Hanna Bolibok-Brągoszewska, Monika Rakoczy-Trojanowska.

In addition to the above-mentioned of thematic sessions, an on-line session dedicated to the editing of plant genomes is also planned with the participation of outstanding specialists, journalists and a wide range of interested people. The preliminary program of the conference will be soon available on our website (http://kghibr.sggw.pl/genetyka2021/).

Applications and abstracts should be sent by April 15, 2021 (application form and abstract template – attached and on the website).

By May 15, 2021, the Scientific Committee will evaluate the submitted abstracts and on this basis will select oral presentations and posters. Please take into account the possibility of a different qualification than indicated by you in the application.

Participants will be informed about the decision of the Scientific Committee by May 30, 2021.

Please pay the conference fees to the following account:
