class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The HARTEMIS Project is an international research initiative focusing on the growing challenge of resistance in the parasitic nematode\u00a0<em>Haemonchus contortus<\/em>\u00a0to available anthelmintic drugs (mainly macrocyclic lactones) in sheep flocks across Europe, as well as on the search for innovative and sustainable methods of controlling gastrointestinal nematode infections. The rapidly increasing resistance of this parasite to macrocyclic lactones\u2014the main group of anthelmintic drugs currently used in small ruminant breeding\u2014poses a serious threat to animal health and farm profitability. The event brought together international experts and researchers working on livestock helminths and the growing challenge of anthelmintic resistance.<\/p><p>The HARTEMIS project was presented by <strong>Dr. Marcin Mickiewicz<\/strong>, project leader at the partner institution, the <strong>Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW)<\/strong>.<\/p><p>In his presentation, Dr. Mickiewicz highlighted the project\u2019s objectives, framework, and early achievements, emphasizing its role in advancing modern strategies for monitoring, detecting, and mitigating anthelmintic resistance in livestock. He also discussed planned activities and the importance of international collaboration in achieving the project\u2019s goals.<\/p><p>Participation in the LiHRA meeting provided an excellent opportunity to share knowledge, establish partnerships, and showcase the innovative direction of the HARTEMIS project.
