The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange launched the call for applications in the next edition of the \u201cSolidary with Belarus – Solidary with scientists\u201d programme. The initiative is a continuation of the measures taken last year and aimed at providing support to the scientists from Belarus. The call for applications is lasting until 30 November.<\/strong><\/p>

The objective of the programme is to support the scientists from Belarus by allowing them to freely conduct research and didactic activities in academic and scientific units in Poland.<\/p>

The Warsaw University of Life Sciences is hosting a scholar of last year\u2019s edition. – Internationalisation is one of the major strategic objectives of SGGW, and the \u201cSolidary with scientists\u201d programme creates an opportunity for the scientists not only to receive financial support but, what is more important, to continue research and scientific work which is a life\u2019s passion for genuine scientists. We decided to help as we think that people and their scientific potential are the most important and science should be apolitical – stresses Katarzyna Specjalska, head of the SGGW International Cooperation Office.<\/p>

The scholar of the \u201cSolidary with Belarus\u201d programme also received support at the level of the institute he currently works at. He has his office, computer and access to the laboratories. On the initiative of the director of the institute, he joined the work of the research teams. As he has cooperated with SGGW for many years, when working at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, he is well-known and popular here.<\/p>

A tangible effect of good adaptation of our scholar are three scientific publications prepared from the beginning of the year as well as plans to submit applications for three implementation grants under the NCBiR competitions.<\/p>

The presence of the Belarusian colleague means new ideas in the areas of scientific work and intensification of mutual cooperation. The stay is of scientific nature but the perfect command of Polish allows the scholar to conduct seminars and didactic classes with the SGGW students.<\/p>

– The presence of the programme beneficiaries means specific scientific publications and the initiative to acquire funds from the outside as part of innovative grants. Thanks to the programme, SGGW gained a valuable scientific employee who activates the work of already existing teams. Therefore, we remain open to this type of activities and we believe that in the long-term strategy this is a good investment for the future – adds Katarzyna Specjalska.<\/p>

The call for applications for the \u201cSolidary with Belarus – Solidary with scientists\u201d programme is carried out by electronic means only, through the NAWA system until 30 November 2021.<\/p>
