style=\"font-weight: 400\">Annual meetings &#8211; ELLS General Assembly &amp; Forum and ELLS Scientific Student Conference<\/span><\/p><p><b>ELLS &#8211; host<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Every year, ELLS (the Euroleague for Life Sciences) invites students from ELLS and ELLS partner universities to participate in the Scientific Student Conference. This year the host of this conference was the Czech University of Life Sciences, Prague.<\/span><\/p><p><b>ELLS General Assembly &amp; Forum \u2013 international cooperation<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Thursday and Friday (September 23-24) were the days of intensive work by the board of Euroleague for Life Sciences and the university staff members of the ELLS: ELLS General Assembly and Forum \u201eOpportunities for ELLS in the new Erasmus+ programme period (2021-2027)\u201d.<\/span><\/p><p><b>ELLS Student Scientific Conference \u2013 SGGW students\u2019 achievements<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">September 23-24 was also the time of the ELLS Student Conference with the leading topic \u201eThe Interconnectedness of things \u2013 A path towards sustainable solutions\u201d. After a two-year break, this conference was organized face-to-face on the CZU campus.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Our students gained awards in the following categories:<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">GREEN THINKING &#8211; FINDINGS FROM THE ENVIRONMENT \u2013 Best Poster Presentation: Ms. Karolina Mosieniak \u201eHistorical problems require modern solutions &#8211; revalorization of Sue Ryder Square in Warsaw\u201d<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">VARYING FAUNA &#8211; ANIMAL PERSPECTIVE &#8211; Best Poster Presentation: Ms. Maja Mielnicka \u201eA zoo-housed African elephant pavilion project with the use of Paddock paradise concept\u201d<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">DESIGNING THE MODERN WORLD &#8211; HUMAN PERSPECTIVE &#8211; Best Oral Presentation: Mr. Przemys\u0142aw Pluta \u201eThe efficiency of environmental education teaching methods &#8211; important factor on the way towards sustainable future\u201d<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p>Team of Igor Olech (Warsaw University of Life Sciences), Peter Muller (University of Hohenheim) and Chiara Coluccia (Wageningen University &amp; Research) won the prize for the best case study presented during the conference. Team members participated in the intensive programme in Soko\u0142y municipality (Podlaskie region, Poland) in July 2022 and then prepared the project \u201eEcological practices for maize farming in Soko\u0142y: an introduction to living mulch\u201d.<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Congratulations to all the Winners and Participants!<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We invite you all to the upcoming conference in November 2023.<\/span><\/p><p><b>About ELLS<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Euroleague for Life Sciences (ELLS) is an organization associating leading agricultural and natural science universities &#8211;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sggw.edu.pl\/en\/home\/collaboration-and-services\/international-cooperation\/ells\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">https:\/\/www.sggw.edu.pl\/en\/home\/collaboration-and-services\/international-cooperation\/ells\/<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The main goal of the EUROLEAGUE is to develop and run joint research and teaching programs, to foster the mobility of students and university teachers by simplifying relevant procedures, and to ensure high-quality teaching. The curricula offered by the universities \u2013 the members of the ELLS network \u2013 include master&#8217;s degrees usually offered by these institutions, with the mutual recognition of courses and the ECTS system, as well as joint short-term programs implemented under the so-called summer schools.
