An intelligent research infrastructure will be located at the SGGW Experimental Forest District in Rog\u00f3w, allowing remote management and detailed crop monitoring, as a result of the cooperation between the Warsaw University of Life Sciences and T-Mobile Polska<\/b>.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

Warsaw University of Life Sciences and T-Mobile have signed an agreement, thanks to which the university will receive access to solutions based on the Narrowband-IoT technology, allowing for the automatic collection of various data and environmental parameters important not only in terms of academic education but also in terms of technology applications in various scientific areas.<\/span><\/p>

A new dimension of scientific work<\/b><\/p>

The Narrowband-IoT network, which is to be used by the new infrastructure, is a communication technology applied in smart city projects. It allows for effective signal transmission even in case of any architectural or range barriers.<\/span><\/p>

That solution makes it reliable and perfect for creating intelligent systems. Such an advanced system will be created at the Arboretum in Rog\u00f3w, where, thanks to intelligent connectivity, supplemented with 2G, 4G, 5G, and CATM1 technologies, it will be possible to create a comprehensive IoT laboratory for students.<\/span><\/p>

At T-Mobile, our activities are based on the belief that technology can and should support us in various spheres of life, including work, studying, and scientific activities.<\/span><\/i><\/p>

This is an extremely important area in which – thanks to the potential of technology, we can support the potential of talented, creative and ambitious people who can have a huge impact on the development of science.<\/span><\/i><\/p>

The new facilities of the technological laboratory will enable the monitoring of soil climatic parameters or organic substrates, irrigation management using mobile devices, and the measurement of temperature and humidity in agricultural, horticultural and forest crops, green areas, orchards and undercover crops.<\/span><\/p>

The new solution will enable comprehensive remote farm management, from irrigation, through fertilization, to controlling blinds or opening ventilation ducts. <\/span>It will also be easier to monitor parameters in bee apiaries, concentrations of gasses in farm buildings, the concentration of nitrates, groundwater oxygenation and turbidity, as well as monitor the moisture content of the plant litter. The smart sensors will also allow the metering of heat meters, water meters, and electricity meters.<\/span><\/p>

In turn, the platform for the visualization of measurement results will enable trouble-free access to all, even the most precise parameters and their full analysis. <\/span>The university will also receive SIM cards in a closed private APN to be used for research purposes. <\/span>All this together will create an intelligent, comprehensive system to conduct extremely precise research activities in a convenient and effective way. <\/span>Any modern research centers, workshops and laboratories, as well as the best experts allow for conducting scientific research at a world-class level and the transfer of results to the economy, which has an impact on innovation and progress, e.g. in agriculture.<\/span><\/p>

The intelligent research infrastructure that will be built in Rog\u00f3w thanks to cooperation with T-Mobile is a powerful tool supporting scientists, and bringing them closer to their research goals,\u00a0 said <\/span>SGGW Rector, prof. dr hab. Micha\u0142 Zasada<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>
