SGGW Days are to be held on 19 and 20 May this year. The attractions prepared for our visitors include field and board games, <\/b>educational games for children, police and fire brigade rescue dogs show, the tree race and dendrological walk, flaming hand show, edible insect products food printing, plants fair and gardening tips, sundew collection exhibition, rock and mineral collection, and wicker products fair.<\/b><\/p>

SGGW Days will begin with the ceremony of awarding the titles of doctor honoris causa to <\/span>Professor Leszek \u017bukowski,<\/b> a long-time academic teacher, dean of the Faculty of Wood Technology, former President of the Board of the World Association of Home Army Soldiers, a significant figure in the history of our University, and country.<\/span><\/p>

During the two-day celebration, all faculties and institutes, student organizations, artistic groups and other SGGW organizational units will present themselves. Candidates will have an opportunity to see our educational offer, talk to students and academic teachers. It will also be a great learning experience and entertainment for the whole family.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Attractions for animal lovers<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Traditionally, during the SGGW Days, there will be many attractions for fauna lovers. On Saturday, in front of the Palace (Rector’s Office), there will be some shows with police and rescue dogs, then a dog show (handling), i.e. the art of presenting dogs at dog shows. B<\/span>ehind the university apiary, there will be a presentation of police horses and birds of prey shows (owls, falcons, hawks). Other animals will also be present. Student science clubs representing the Faculty of Breeding, Bioengineering and Animal Protection will present aquarium fish, various species of reptiles, amphibians, mice and insects at their stands. <\/span>Visitors will be able to admire ornamental chickens, quails, goats, sheep and domestic cavy known as guinea pig, as well as the interior of a bee hive. At the Open University stand you will be able to look at the world through the eyes of insects.<\/span><\/p>

Attractions for plant lovers<\/b><\/p>

Ornamental plants and shrubs\u2019 shows have become a permanent feature of this university picnic. During the SGGW Days, our students and scientists will share tips on how to choose plants and grow them in a home garden. Our guests will also be invited for a dendrological walk and a guided tour of the Plant Collection. Then, during the floristic workshops, anyone can learn how to compose wreaths. Loads of competitions and exploring the world of plants with the help of our own senses can be great fun for children and adults. If you want to find out what a tree race is or where the forest has its beginning, we invite you to visit the stands prepared by forestry students.<\/span><\/p>

All about food<\/b><\/p>

How to eat properly? <\/span>What nutritional value do edible insect products have? <\/span>How to buy cheese? <\/span>What are food additives? <\/span>Bread from around the world, <\/span>cooking oil secrets, <\/span>all about juices and nectars, <\/span>food printing and food and nutrition games and activities; t<\/span>hose are some of the activities prepared by our faculties and institutes dealing with food and human nutrition.<\/span><\/p>

A little bit of sports<\/b><\/p>

There will be a lot of sports attractions. In the mini sports town, children and adults will be able to work out and take part in different sports activities and games.<\/span><\/p>

A little bit of dancing and \u2026<\/b><\/p>

Every year SGGW student organizations and artistic groups actively participate in the university picnic. This time we will see\u00a0 “Promni”,\u00a0 our Orchestra, Choir and Sqer Dance formation on the stage in front of the Rector\u2019s palace.<\/span><\/p>

On Friday at 3.00 p.m come to the Crystal Hall to see: “Our Man from America” performance prepared by the<\/span> Bez Wizy Foundation<\/span><\/i> under the <\/span>Warszawski Miszmasz<\/span><\/i> project! On Saturday at 2.30 p.m. there will be a concert by the Harmonica band.<\/span><\/p>
