The latest World’s Top 2% Scientists 2023 ranking, which identifies the world’s most influential researchers, lists 13 University of Life Sciences (SGGW) researchers. This is a significant increase compared to last year, when ten SGGW researchers appeared on the list. This year’s list includes a group of young researchers whose dynamic careers and significant scientific contributions have been recognised\u00a0internationally. That fact proves that new generations of SGGW scientists and their work are already influential globally.<\/strong><\/p>

The ranking, developed by Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier Publishing and SciTech Strategies, includes scientists from all scientific disciplines and is based on citation rates from the Scopus database. It assesses bibliometric criteria such as:<\/p>

  • Total number of citations;<\/li>
  • Hirsch index (h-index);<\/li>
  • Author’s position among co-authors of the publication (the first\u00a0and the last place);<\/li>
  • Number\u00a0of articles.<\/li><\/ul>

    The Top 2% ranking is among the most prestigious international recognitions intended to identify scientists with the most significant impact on science. The ranking considers mechanisms to prevent negative phenomena such as self-citation or \u2018citation farms\u2019.\u00a0<\/p>
