On October 28, 2025, Prof. Tomasz Okruszko, Vice-Rector for Research at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW), delivered a lecture titled \u201cRewetting Europe: Policy, Science and Practice for a Resilient Future.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The event took place in Crystal Hall and was also streamed online, attracting participants from the academic community and beyond, within UNIgreen \u2013 The Green European University.<\/p>

The session was based on the results of the MERLIN (EU Horizon) project and ongoing research conducted at the Department of Meteorology, Hydrology and Water Management and the Centre for Climate Research. Prof. Okruszko presented an integrated perspective combining policy, science, and practice in the context of wetland and aquatic ecosystem restoration.<\/p>

The discussion, moderated by Aleksandra Bilik, PhD candidate at the SGGW Doctoral School, encouraged active participation from both onsite and online audiences. Questions from participants focused on the role of the private sector in restoration financing, the balance between regulation, innovation, and local initiative, as well as career opportunities related to water management in science, policy, and business.<\/p>
