For two days, the SGGW campus transformed into a vibrant space filled with science, culture, and community, offering a rich program of artistic performances, demonstrations, workshops, and activities that attracted visitors from across Warsaw and beyond.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

SGGW Days 2026\u00a0are already behind us. On 15 and 16 May, the campus of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) was full of life, welcoming students, staff, alumni, and residents of the capital city. The university grounds became a place where visitors could not only explore SGGW\u2019s educational and scientific offers, but\u00a0above all experience\u00a0the spirit of the academic community.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>


Official Ceremony at the Crystal Hall<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>

The official opening ceremony took place on 15 May at the Crystal Hall and was inaugurated by the Rector of SGGW,\u00a0Prof. Micha\u0142 Zasada. One of the most important moments of the day was the awarding of the honorary doctorate title to Prof. Michal Lo\u0161\u0165\u00e1k, Rector of the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The ceremony also included awards for outstanding scientific and teaching achievements, medals\u00a0recognizing\u00a0contributions to the university, and the formal promotion of doctoral graduates.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>


Music, Dance, and Stage Full of Emotions<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>

The artistic program began on 15 May with a concert by the SGGW Representative Orchestra.\u00a0Concert of SGGW Representative Orchestra<\/a><\/span><\/span>\u00a0 The\u00a0stage in front of the Rector\u2019s Palace\u00a0was\u00a0filled with popular music and film soundtracks. The same day also marked the opening of the International Dance Couples Festival<\/a><\/span><\/span>, alongside performances by the PROMNI Folk Artistic Ensemble and SQER Dance. The first edition of the festival was won by\u00a0a\u00a0dance couple from Mongolia.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The second day brought further musical highlights. The SGGW Representative Orchestra performed together with the SGGW Choir and the Italian Schola Cantorum Aristotele Pacini choir. Visitors also enjoyed additional performances by PROMNI and festival dance presentations.

The celebrations concluded with the gala concert \u201cOtdih\u201d at the Palace of the Commonwealth, featuring contemporary choral music from Central and Eastern Europe. The concert was conducted by Giulia Bascelli, Micha\u0142 Kosikowski, Tomasz Cepiel, and Pawe\u0142 Choina.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>


Outdoor Activities Across the Campus<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>

Throughout both days, the SGGW campus became an open space for learning and discovery. Visitors had the opportunity to meet scientists and students at faculty and institute stands, gaining insight into research and educational activities carried out across the university.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Police dog training demonstrations<\/span> \u00a0<\/span><\/a>and\u00a0raptor presentations\u00a0attracted significant interest.\u00a0Modern agricultural machinery and innovative automation technologies were also\u00a0showcased.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Visitors could explore the \u201cColours and Flavours of Nature\u201d market, featuring ornamental plants, vegetable seedlings, herbs, and natural products.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Faculties and institutes prepared numerous demonstrations and experiments, including environmental engineering presentations featuring filtration systems, thermal imaging technology, and water retention models. Wood enthusiasts could observe CNC machinery demonstrations, historical carpentry tools, and furniture assembly processes. Meanwhile, the Main Library invited visitors to take part in literary and educational quizzes designed for both adults and children.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Participants could also learn about projects supported by the European Union through an outdoor exhibition\u00a0organized as part of the National\u00a0Center\u00a0for Research and Development initiative \u201cFunduszowy\u00a0Maj.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>


Workshops, Lectures and Educational Meetings<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>

The programme also included a wide range of educational events. Participants could join weaving workshops, attend a lecture about the fascinating world of glass frogs, or visit the Osteological Museum and the Small Animal Clinic.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Discussion sessions covered diverse topics\u00a0\u2013\u00a0from happiness in Bhutan and conversations about Gen Z to reflections on traditional building methods using wood, straw, and clay.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The event\u00a0program\u00a0also featured exhibitions, including \u201cHistorical Wood\u201d and \u201cBeetles of the World,\u201d attracting nature and science enthusiasts.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>


Space for Relaxation and Inspiration<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>

Visitors could also enjoy the recreation area prepared by the Faculty of Forestry, offering relaxation in hammocks among the trees and guided dendrological walks. Unusual attractions, such as a \u201cTeddy Bear Hospital\u201d and demonstrations showing how artificial blood is produced, also drew considerable attention.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>


A Celebration of the Academic Community<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>

As part of the celebrations marking 210 years of SGGW tradition, SGGW Days 2026 highlighted the strength and diversity of the university community, built over generations on knowledge, openness, and collaboration.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The event was not only an opportunity to promote education and science, but above all a space for meetings, integration, and celebrating the rich history of the university together.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Two dynamic days filled with conversations, presentations, and activities left participants with many positive memories and once again confirmed that SGGW is a place where 210 years of tradition are harmoniously combined with innovation and a forward-looking vision for the future.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
