SGGW was among the largest and best universities in the world in the ranking prepared by the University of Leiden. Our university ranked high in the field of life and earth sciences – both in terms of scientific impact, open access to publications, collaboration, and participation of women in research achievements.<\/strong><\/p>

CWTS Leiden Ranking is one of the most important world academic rankings. This year’s edition includes 1,225 universities from 69 countries. The ranking is created solely on the basis of bibliometric data available in the Web of Science<\/em> database, divided into scientific areas. These are: Biomedical and health sciences<\/em>, Life and earth sciences<\/em>, Mathematics and computer science<\/em>, Physical science and engineering<\/em> and Social sciences and humanities<\/em>.<\/p>

In its construction, the ranking does not use subjective indicators that determine, for example, the prestige of a university (measured, for example, by the opinions of students, graduates, employers). For three years, it has been presenting the results in four categories: (1) scientific impact, (2) open access to publications, (3) collaboration, and (4) participation of women in research achievements (gender).<\/p>

In this year’s ranking the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) ranked high mainly in Life and earth sciences<\/em>. It also stood out in the area of Biomedical and health sciences<\/em> and Physical science and engineering<\/em>.<\/p>

In the scientific impact<\/em> category, in the area of Life and earth sciences<\/em>, SGGW was ranked 201st in the world and 1st in Poland. Other places in the country were taken by: University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (2nd place in the country and 220th place in the world), Pozna\u0144 University of Life Sciences (3rd place in the country and 251st place in the world), or Hugo Ko\u0142\u0142\u0105taj University of Agriculture in Krak\u00f3w (4th place in the country and 263rd place in the world).<\/p>

The number of SGGW employees’ publications in open access in the area of Life and earth sciences<\/em> guaranteed the University 314th position in the world (an improvement in relation to the previous year by 14 positions) and again 1st position in Poland. In the Gold Open Access<\/em> category (publications in reliable journals in full in open access) SGGW was ranked 22nd among Polish universities and 1st among national agricultural\/ natural science universities.<\/p>

In the category of broadly understood collaboration in writing publications (measured by the number of publications), SGGW was ranked 314th in the world in the area of Life and earth sciences<\/em> and 1st in Poland. As regards the percentage share of publications prepared in cooperation with other institutions, in the area of Life and earth sciences<\/em> SGGW was ranked 22nd in the country, while in the area of Biomedical and health sciences<\/em> it was 17.<\/p>

In terms of the number of all authors in the area of \u200b\u200bLife and earth sciences<\/em>, SGGW was ranked 192nd in the world and 1st in Poland. The number of female authors in this area allowed the University to take 1st place in Poland. The University achieved high positions in terms of the percentage share of women in the number of authors of all publications: in the area of \u200b\u200bBiomedical and health sciences<\/em> – 2nd place, in the areas of Physical science and engineering<\/em> and Life and earth sciences<\/em> – 10th place.<\/em><\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
