Opis kierunku
Natural Materials and Design is a new educational program designed for individuals with an interest in science and technology who demonstrate aesthetic sensitivity and strong manual skills. Applicants with good results in mathematics, physics, chemistry, or biology, as well as knowledge of art history, are especially welcome.
The program offers a unique combination of engineering competence and artistic sensibility. Its curriculum aligns with the principles of sustainable development, teaching students how to transform natural raw materials into modern, functional, and aesthetically refined utility forms.
Students gain a solid technical education in material properties and eco-technologies, enriched with practical design training. They learn how to use contemporary digital tools to create products with high design and ergonomic value.
The Natural Materials and Design program develops competencies in creative and innovative product design, including the use of advanced design tools, mastery of visual communication, and the ability to create technological, functional, and ergonomic utility forms.
Perspektywy zawodowe
Graduates will be prepared to work in various engineering and design teams, as well as to lead such teams. They will also be able to communicate effectively with specialists from different sectors (including forestry, architecture and urban planning, fine arts, art conservation, and others).
An integral part of the program is professional internships carried out in companies manufacturing consumer products (including furniture companies), design and industrial design studios, as well as conservation studios. These internships provide direct contact with industry and enable students to collect data for their engineering thesis.
Graduates of the program will be prepared to:
• run their own business in the natural materials processing sector,
• work in design offices and design studios,
• find employment in the creative industries, as well as in the wood and furniture industries and cultural institutions.
