PhD student's participation in EXPO 2025
Karolina Krysinska, M.Sc., a first-year doctoral student at the SGGW Doctoral School from the Institute of Civil Engineering, participated in the delegation of the SGGW at the EXPO 2025 Osaka Kansai World Exposition.
The event was part of the Polish Earth Day celebrations, organized as part of the program presented at Expo 2025 by SGGW. Karolina Krysinska, M.Sc., together with her supervisor – Prof. Magdalena Darya Vaverkova, Ph.D., from the Institute of Civil Engineering – actively participated in the preparation and implementation of the scientific part of the event, promoting advanced solutions in the field of sustainable development and closed-loop economy.
The SGGW delegation was led by Vice-Rector for Internationalization Marta Mednel, PhD, Professor of SGGW. The delegation also included employees of the Office of International Cooperation, as well as Prof. Hazem Mohamed Kalaji, PhD, from the Institute of Biology, and Piotr Dąbrowski, PhD, Prof. SGGW, from the Institute of Environmental Engineering.
The participation of a doctoral student in an event of this magnitude was made possible thanks to the “International Scientific Event at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka” program, funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education through the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).
The stay in Japan was not only an important academic experience, but also an opportunity to establish international contacts, exchange knowledge and learn about the latest trends and technologies in the field of sustainable construction and environmental protection.
