QUALIFICATION RULES

The rules apply to Polish citizens regardless of the type of certificate, as well as to foreigners applying for admission to studies on the basis of a Polish maturity certificate, IB diploma, EB diploma, certificate or other document issued abroad by a school or educational institution operating within the education system of an EU, OECD or EFTA member state, and a certificate or other document issued abroad covered by the provisions of international agreements concluded with China and Ukraine.
BIOTECHNOLOGY
Qualification criteria:
- the results from a maturity examination or foreign examination/education results – subjects: biology (PKG) and one of the subjects to choose from: chemistry or physics or mathematics (PKD)
Formula for qualification result (WK)
WK = PKG x 0,5 + PKD x 0,5
Definitions:
- PKG – Main qualification subject – SGGW points awarded for the result of the maturity examination or foreign examination/education results.
- PKD – Additional qualification subject – SGGW points awarded for the result of the maturity examination or foreign examination/education results.
Candidates may enter the qualification process for studies conducted in English under condition that:
- they have a document recognized by SGGW confirming knowledge of English at a language proficiency level not lower than B2 or
- they have obtained a positive result of an interview conducted at the university, verifying knowledge of English at the same level.
FOOD SCIENCE – TECHNOLOGY AND NUTRITION
Qualification criteria:
- the results from a maturity examination or foreign examination/education results – subjects: biology or chemistry or mathematics (PKG)
Formula for qualification result (WK)
WK = PKG x 1
Definitions:
- PKG – Main qualification subject – SGGW points awarded for the result of the maturity examination or foreign examination/education results.
Candidates may enter the qualification process for studies conducted in English under condition that:
- they have a document recognized by SGGW confirming knowledge of English at a language proficiency level not lower than B2 or
- they have obtained a positive result of an interview conducted at the university, verifying knowledge of English at the same level.
INFORMATICS
Qualification criteria:
- the results from a maturity examination or foreign examination/education results – subjects: physics or informatics or mathematics (PKG)

Definitions:
- PKG – Main qualification subject – SGGW points awarded for the result of the maturity examination or foreign examination/education results.
Candidates may enter the qualification process for studies conducted in English under condition that:
- they have a document recognized by SGGW confirming knowledge of English at a language proficiency level not lower than B2 or
- they have obtained a positive result of an interview conducted at the university, verifying knowledge of English at the same level.
MANAGEMENT
Qualification criteria:
- the results from a maturity examination or foreign examination/education results – subjects: mathematics (PKG) and one of the subjects to choose from: physics or geography or history or modern foreign language or Polish language or knowledge about society (PKD)
Formula for qualification result (WK)
WK = PKG x 0,5 + PKD x 0,5
Definitions:
- PKG – Main qualification subject – SGGW points awarded for the result of the maturity examination or foreign examination/education results.
- PKD – Additional qualification subject – SGGW points awarded for the result of the maturity examination or foreign examination/education results.
Candidates may enter the qualification process for studies conducted in English under condition that:
- they have a document recognized by SGGW confirming knowledge of English at a language proficiency level not lower than B2 or
- they have obtained a positive result of an interview conducted at the university, verifying knowledge of English at the same level.
ORGANIC AGRICULTURE AND FOOD PRODUCTION
Qualification criteria:

RULES FOR THE QUALIFICATION OF FOREIGNERS
> APPLYING FOR ADMISSION ON THE BASIS OF A CERTIFICATE REQUIRING RECOGNITION
The rules apply to foreigners applying for admission to studies on the basis of a foreign high school certificate or other document issued abroad, which is not: an IB diploma, an EB diploma, a certificate or other document issued abroad by a school or educational institution operating within the education system of an EU, OECD, EFTA member state, and a certificate or other document issued abroad covered by the provisions of international agreements concluded with China and Ukraine.
The basis for qualification for first-cycle studies is the result of the entrance examination verifying the specific predispositions to undertake studies.
Legal basis for conducting the exam: Art. 10 of the Act of 4 April 2025 amending certain acts in order to eliminate irregularities in the visa system of the Republic of Poland (Journal of Laws of 2025, item 622) and the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended) in Art. 70 paragraph 5b.

RULES FOR TAKING THE EXAM
- The exam can be taken by Candidates registered in the Online Candidate Recruitment (IRK) system who have paid the recruitment fee.
- During the exam, the candidate must not use a mobile phone, players or other devices recording images and/or sounds, must not have other pages open in the internet browser under penalty of invalidating the exam.
- Failure to take the exam on the scheduled date (and time) or not obtaining the minimum number of points means obtaining zero SGGW points from this exam, which is equivalent to obtaining a zero qualification result.
ABOUT THE EXAM
The entrance exam checking special predispositions to undertake studies, is a single-choice test, consisting of 40 questions on general knowledge and logical thinking.
SCORING RULES
The maximum number of SGGW points to be obtained is 100 points, the minimum number of points necessary to pass the exam is 30 points.
A candidate for studies who is a disabled person should report the disability in writting to the University Recruitment Committee no later than 15 days before the exam date planned in the recruitment schedule in order to adapt to individual needs.
