A thousand young people of Polish descent from around the world came to the SGGW campus to take part in Polonia Camp 2025, the first World Meeting of Young Poles Abroad.
Polonia Camp 2025 is the first ever World Meeting of Young Polonia, which brought together young people of Polish descent from almost every continent. For four days, from 17 to 20 July 2025, the campus of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences became a place for dialogue, exchange of experiences and building an international community based on Polish identity and shared values.
SGGW’s participation
SGGW joined in the organisation of the event by providing access to its campus and infrastructure, including the student dormitories where Polonia Camp 2025 participants are staying, green areas and common spaces where panels, workshops, meetings and integration events are held. The university also provided organisational and logistical support, enabling the smooth implementation of the programme and a comfortable stay for participants. The 70-hectare campus in Warsaw’s Ursynów district, with excellent transport links to the city centre, is the ideal venue for such a large undertaking. The presence of such a diverse group of active young people from all over the world fits in perfectly with the international character of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. On 19 July, at 11:30 a.m., Dr hab. Marta Mendel, prof. SGGW, Vice-Rector for Internationalization, will take part in a debate on the advantages of studying in Poland. Together with other representatives of Warsaw universities, she will familiarise young people with the educational offer and opportunities for obtaining support, e.g. in the form of scholarships.
The event is attended by people aged 18-30, future and current students, leaders of Polish diaspora organisations, people from the worlds of science, culture and business who want to rediscover their ties with Poland and create space for cross-border cooperation. People who are considering moving to Poland, even if only for the duration of their studies.
I had been to Warsaw before, but I didn’t know that there was such a place in Ursynów – a huge green campus that looks more like a park in the city centre than a typical university. Impressive. Everything is well organised, it was easy to get here from the airport, and the people are very helpful, said Gabriel from Brazil.
Polonia Camp 2025 marks the beginning of long-term cooperation between young Poles living abroad, as well as an opportunity to build intercultural and intergenerational bridges. We are delighted to host this event, supporting the ideas of openness, cooperation and nurturing bonds.

The event is held under the honorary patronage of Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland. The organisers are: ‘Wspólnota Polska’ Association, the Jan Olszewski Foundation for Aid to Poles in the East, and the Institute of Public Affairs.
