ELLS (EuroLeague of Life Science Universities) is an international network of leading European universities specializing in life sciences, agricultural sciences, environmental sciences, veterinary sciences, and food sciences. The goal of ELLS is to foster academic collaboration, improve the quality of education, support student and faculty mobility, and undertake joint initiatives to address global challenges in sustainable development, food security, and environmental protection.
In 2026, we will celebrate the 25th anniversary of ELLS, which was symbolically marked by the installation of the ELLS logo at New Campus.
SGGW’s involvement in ELLS includes participating in the work of the network’s governing bodies and working groups, developing educational and research collaborations with partner universities, and supporting initiatives for students and young researchers. Of particular importance are joint educational projects, the exchange of best practices, and participation in events such as the ELLS Scientific Student Conference. Membership in ELLS strengthens SGGW’s international recognition, improves the quality of education, and creates opportunities to develop strategic partnerships within the European life sciences community.
In July 2026, ELLS received funding from the European Commission under the European Universities Initiative and will implement the ELLS-EUA project over the next two years. This opens up new opportunities for developing joint study programs, academic mobility, and innovative forms of education.
In September 2027, SGGW will host the annual ELLS General Assembly & Forum and the Student Scientific Conference.
