Visiting professors

The International Cooperation Office informs about the possibility of co-financing the stay at SGGW of professors from abroad (foreigners) who meet the criteria contained in the Regulation No. 64 of the Rector of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences dated 18/12/2019
Applications for co-financing (Annex 1 to the above-mentioned Regulation) should be submitted to the International Cooperation Office by April 30 of each year for the next academic year.
The inviting unit takes care of the professor, along with the organization of the stay.
Scientific interns

Interns – information for supervisors
To invite a scientific intern from abroad:
- At least one month before the planned arrival of the intern, the supervisor should prepare an application addressed to the Rector, requesting approval for the intern’s stay in the respective unit.
The application should include the following information:
• Intern’s personal details (full name, nationality, home university, and academic position)
• Planned dates of stay
• Details of the academic supervisor at SGGW
• Type of scholarship granted (if applicable)
• A statement confirming that the internship will take place without any tuition fees or scholarship benefits provided by our University (this does not apply to interns under the I. Wyhowski Award)
• A request for accommodation in the “Eden” Student Dormitory from the Rector’s Housing Committee number of places (if the intern applies for a place).
- The supervisor forwards the application, approved by the intern’s academic supervisor and the Director of the Institute, via the EZD system to Anna Fert or Katarzyna Dąbrowska (International Relations Office – IRO).
- The International Relations Office (IRO) forwards the application to the Rector via the EZD system.
- The IRO informs the intern’s supervisor once the Rector’s approval has been obtained.
- The IRO submits a request for the intern’s accommodation to the Rector’s Housing Committee (if such a request was included in the application). After a decision is made, the IRO informs the supervisor by email and forwards the relevant file in the EZD system.
- If the intern cancels or changes the planned arrival date, the supervisor must immediately notify the IRO staff member at wepoint@sggw.edu.pl.
- To obtain approval for including the intern’s supervision hours in the teaching load (pensum), the supervisor should submit to their superior the “Request for consent to provide academic supervision” – Appendix No. 4 to Ordinance No. 105 on teaching workload. After obtaining all required approvals, the request should be forwarded via the EZD system to Anna Fert or Katarzyna Dąbrowska.

- After completing the internship, the supervisor must submit a “Confirmation of the Internship” containing all required signatures – Appendix No. 5 to Ordinance No. 105 on teaching workload. The document should be sent via the EZD system, in the same file folder where the Rector’s consent was previously processed, to Anna Fert or Katarzyna Dąbrowska.

- Upon receiving the confirmation of the internship, the IRO submits a request via the EZD system to the relevant institute to include the supervision of the intern in the supervisor’s teaching workload (pensum).
Other guests

Depending on the nature of the arrival, guests from abroad may be invited to SGGW:
- on the basis of contracts and agreements,
- as part of individual contacts,
- under EU programs,
- participation in events,
- organizational arrivals,
- other;
