The development of science is a priority and the main area of activity of SGGW, according to the assumption that the scientific condition depends on the scientific image of the University and the development of personnel capable of conducting research and didactic tasks.
In order to achieve the objectives outlined, measures are constantly being taken to improve the formal conditions for learning and to strengthen the foundations for its development. The policy of highlighting scientific activities is implemented, inter alia, by improving the procedures for hiring and advancing academic teachers, introducing a system of incentives in the form of additional remuneration for distinguished researchers, financial support for research teams, lowering the teaching pen and increasing the participation of administrative units
formal and legal assistance in the process of applying for grants.
The University promotes research through the introduction of mechanisms for its financing and internationalisation, as well as support for economic research activities and the building of creative capital.

Motivational systems for researchers
In the Main School of the Rural Farm there are systems that motivate academic teachers to do creative and more engaged research work. These include:
A system of periodic increase in the remuneration of SGGW employeeswhose work makes a significant contribution to the development of the University. The increased remuneration is targeted at academics who in the previous year demonstrated the best scientific achievements as measured by publications in which they play a leading role, published in the international circulation, and research projects in which they perform the role of managers. Between 2017 and 2020, 131 employees were covered by the periodic pay increase.
A financial support system for researchers andresearch teams who have successfully received a review assessment while applying for research project competitions but have not received funding. The funds obtained in the support system will allow them to carry out research work and develop contacts in the scientific world so that they can continue their research and better prepare the application for the next competition. Between 2019 and 2020, 25 research teams received funding for this purpose.
Reduction of teaching pensum for scientific project managers depending on the value of the project. As a result, project managers have more time to conduct scientific activities and improve the research workshop.
