Description of direction
Quality control is an essential part of every production process, therefore the competence of a commodity expert is essential in many industries, and above all in the food industry. Bioeconomy is the sustainable processing of available biomass, including for food, medicinal products, other industrial products and energy, without adversely affecting the activities of future generations. Studies in the field of commodity science in bioeconomy prepare for the assessment of the quality and functional properties of renewable biological resources used in the production of food and other goods. Students gain knowledge and skills in the field of microeconomics, macroeconomics, marketing, management, forecasting and the functioning of the market economy. Graduates are able to work in a team, know the principles of managing human resources, can set up and run small and medium-sized companies. Moreover, they are prepared to shape quality
products through design and knowledge of manufacturing technology, and to protect and control the quality of food and other bioeconomy products.
