
As of 1 October 2025, following a competitive selection process and in accordance with the decision of the Rector of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, the position of Chancellor of SGGW has been assumed by Dr. Arkadiusz Gruchała.
Dr. Arkadiusz Gruchała has been continuously affiliated with the University for over two decades, holding numerous academic, teaching, and organizational positions, including Vice-Dean for Didactics, Head of the Department of Forest Economics, Rector’s Plenipotentiary for Quality of Education, and Deputy Chancellor – Director for Infrastructure Management.
A graduate of the Faculty of Forestry, in 2005 he defended his doctoral dissertation devoted to the organization of managerial staff work in the State Forests. His academic achievements include numerous scientific publications, participation in national and international research projects, and active cooperation with institutions in the forestry sector. He has been a member of many Senate and Rector’s committees, as well as teams responsible for the development of education, university management, and quality policy. He combines research and teaching experience with managerial practice. In his work, he focuses on optimizing management, developing modern administrative processes, and creating teams that identify with the University’s mission.
Privately, he is interested in the history of World War II and of Kashubia, and he devotes his free time to his family and gardening.
