“Rewetting Europe: Policy, Science and Practice for a Resilient Future” UNIgreen Webinar at SGGW

On October 28, 2025, the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) will host the first webinar in the UNIgreen – The Green European University series, focusing on international initiatives for ecosystem and water restoration.
The lecture titled “Rewetting Europe: Policy, Science and Practice for a Resilient Future” will be delivered by Professor Tadeusz Okruszko, Vice-Rector for Science at SGGW. The discussion will be co-moderated by a PhD student from the Faculty of Economics – Aleksandra Bilik. Based on the results of the MERLIN EU Horizon project and the research of the Department of Meteorology, Hydrology, and Water Management, the presentation will connect policy, science, and practice in the context of wetland and ecosystem restoration. It will explore how policy changes shape restoration efforts, highlight key scientific insights, and present challenges related to on-the-ground implementation through practical case studies.
