From 9 to 11 June 2026, a delegation from the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) visited its partner institution, Bohai University. The SGGW delegation included the prof. Marta Mendel, Vice-Rector for Internationalization, 1st Vice-Rector and prof. Anna Bzducha-Wróbel, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Food Sciences.
The meetings were attended by representatives of Bohai University, including President Prof. Zhao Jianguo, Vice President Mr. Dechang, Dean of the School of International Education Prof. Zhang Junixiu, and Dean of the School of Food Science and Engineering Prof. Fan Jinbo. Representatives of the Polish-Chinese Foundation for Academic Cooperation, Mr. Wojciech Szpakowski and Mr. Yu Xintao, also participated in the discussions.
During the visit, the partners reviewed the implementation and quality of the jointly delivered undergraduate programme Food Sciences – Technology and Nutrition. Discussions also focused on opportunities to expand cooperation through the development of a master’s programme in the same field, the introduction of a bachelor’s programme in Organic Agriculture and Food Production, cooperation in doctoral education, and the strengthening of joint research and innovation activities in the areas of food technology and food safety.
The second part of the visit included participation in the 2026 Liaoning International Friendship Cities Conference. The conference, attended by the Governor of Liaoning Province, brought together representatives of academic institutions, local authorities, and business organizations cooperating with partners from the region.
Of particular importance to SGGW was a meeting with representatives of the Liaoning Provincial Department of Higher Education, which oversees cooperation between SGGW and Bohai University. The discussions focused on further developing the academic partnership and exploring new opportunities to strengthen educational and scientific cooperation between Poland and China.
